Netherlands U21 and Scotland U21 are the most strongest sides in their group. They are together with Slovakia, Georgia and Luxembourg. For Netherlands this will be the first match in the group. They played a friendly match and lost 1:0 to Czech Republic two weeks ago. On the last UEFA's European Under-21 Championship in Israel (played in June) they won 3:2 against Germany and 5:1 against Russia, while they lost 3:0 to Spain and 1:0 to Italy in the semi final.
Scotland played only one match until now in the group and they won 3:0 against week side Luxembourg. The goal scorers were Jamie Walker, Tony Watt and Lewis Toshney. The coach Billy Stark believed that the humiliating 6:0 defeat to England in the friendly match two weeks ago won’t have influence to their European Championship qualifying match with Netherlands. The Scotland team had very confusing 11 minutes when they conceded four goals from the total six.
England players were stronger and quicker and it was difficult to stopped them. Daniel Handling (from Hibernian) and Jack Grimmer (Fulham) have been called up to the team for the first time, while Callum Paterson will be back in the team after his selection for the Portugal friendly match on November.
Islam Feruz (from Chelsea) is absent from the list and he will be replaced with the striker Stevie May who is in good form. In defense line will be playing Findlay and Grimmer from Celtic and the experienced Ryan Jack (12 caps) from Aberdeen. In the midfield line will be playing Stuart Armstrong from Dundee Utd with 14 caps and in the team are the Celtic strikers Dylan McGeouch and Tony Watt.
Watt has scored 5 goals on the eight played games for the national team.
In their mutual matches for Euro U21 2013, Scotland won 2:1 as guests, while the other match ended with goalless draw.
I think this match will be a low scoring with no more than three total goals.
